What kind should I get...and give me a simple writeup how to change em..im due and too lazy to google em
My 00 xj is set up different as far as spark plugs on my buds 92 xj

Make you should google how to get a friend to change the sparkplugs on your XJ. Since you're THAT lazy and all.

What other parts are you "dropping" money on? One of the easiest things to do is change a spark plug. If you have to look that up, I'd wait to tackle the other parts.

It came with Champion copper core plugs from the factory. The Plug number is on the emissions lable. If the Ignition, fuel dilivery, and computer are stock then these are the best plug to run at the gap listed on the emissions lable.

Champions. Don't waste your money on anything else

I also was recommended to put those Champions in my '96 - will see if I get decent mileage out of it with them before I 'invest' in anything exotic. The only other motorized device I've ever put Champions in is my lawn mower.

Factory was champions, so I would believe you will be ok . thats just like running anything but delco's in a gm product.

"Exotic" plugs like splitfire are no better then a standard plug. Unless you're running a high end ignition the spark isn't as hot because its split. Also it is good to have the area around the spark open for the best combustion. A properly indexed standard plug will work very well. Different materials like iridium effect the longevity.

I actually got worse fuel economy with bosch platinum+4.... I am using cheapy Champions right now.

I have been a professional Auto Tech for over 23 years. I have removed many, many new sets of Split Fire and the generic Bosch Platinum plugs because of drivability issues. Bosch platinum plugs that came with Engines as OE are nothing like the generic Bosch platinums. The split doen't affect the heat range of the plug, the length of the center electrod and the gap do.

Wasn't talking about heat range. That's refers to how much heat is dissipated by the insulator or held in. I understand that hotter plugs burn off more carbon but too hot will cause pre-ignition. I'm talking about the voltage of a single spark vs multiple sparks. The splits do not help combustion. I think we are in agreement there.

The Bosch's i used had only one electrode. Also, i do have a performance ignition.
