Default 3.5" lift rear DS angles

My XJ measures 3.5" in the rear, I bought it like this and it has a TC drop installed and 2 degree shims. I have horrible vibes that rattle the entire dash and forget about leaving any change in the shifter area! The vibes begin at 55mph and continue to 85mph(fastest Ive ever driven it). I know my pinion angles are off... So the question is, with a 3.5" lift what is the most common set-up in the rear? Should I remove the TC drop and shims and see where that puts me? I fear by removing the drop it might make the angles worse?

I have a 4" lift with 33's and no t-case drop or sye and short arms and I have no vibration at all. Mine is also a 90 what is yours? different years have different pinion angles. Like Renix jeeps dont need an SYE until about 5"+

check you DS angle and Pinion angle.... then report back...

the stock rear the angles should be equal at the tcase and the pinion and no more than 15* rise on the shaft.

I don't have an angle finder or know how to check them... I am just wondering how other XJs out there are set-up with 3-4" of lift.

every xj is different. $5 for an angle finder and you will use it often. noone on here can you what will work for your xj we can only suggest. without you getting the angles we cannot help you in nearly any manor and those vibes will destroy u-joints extremely fast

$7 at home depot:

with out you having an angle finder you dont know what angle your DS is at and what angle your Pinion is at, so it could possibly be that the TCase drop and the 2* shim are causing your pinion to point up more than it should.

I know that I still am not running shims or a tcase drop for 7.25" of lift (longer and clearanced Yoke). where as some ppl need a Tcase drop at 3" and some at 5"

every jeep is different

Looks like I will pick one up then. Could you possibly post a link to a write-up on how to check the angles using the angle finder?

I tried taking a couple pics but I don't have a camera. I used my cell phone and they came out way too dark to even see anything.
