Default brake light switch

Does anybody know how to remove the brake light switch from the pedal on a 90 cherokee 4x4 with CC?

yup, just unbolt the pedal from the master push rod and unclip the harness.
once the pedal is unbolted, there is a white plastic insert that goes through the rod. just push that out and the switch will come right off.

looks like this.

Hopefully this is on topic...

Once you've removed it, how do you keep it from getting stuck in the "ON" position when you've finished braking? My brake lights keep staying on after I turn everything off, but if I just wiggle the switch a little, they go off. I'm pretty sure the spring in the sensor there is just getting stuck, so any ideas on how to adjust/fix that?
