Does anyone have a fuse panel layout for a 95 cherokee. I dont have a owners manual and need to know what fuses go where.

I'm pretty sure any 1994-1996 should work...Thanks

After a few hours searching the net, I found someone who posted this. I don't agree with it saying "passenger side", but I think most of these are right. Should be for at least 94-96 XJ. Hope this helps someone else too. If anyone disagree's...please let me know.

I also have done some searching on my stuff that I have sites to look at and the only thing I found is the FSM for a similar year and it matched what you have posted so I think you are good to go with that data.

This is just an update.

For some reason Fuse#08 - 20A Turn Signal Flasher is incorrect on my XJ.

Fuse #10 is the location (eventhough the 95 fsm that I just found says it should be in #8)

#10 is the spot.

There is only one connection terminal in the #8 location. At first I thought that the second terminal got pushed through the back of the fuse block, but after taking the fuse panel out (to get to the wires on the back side) there was no wires disconnected. After putting a 20A fuse in the #10 spot...the turn signals work like a charm.


Oh, the combination flasher/hazard relay is a EP27 (5pin)

alright, this is very helpful. I have been scratching my head over a few things that don't work in my 1995 Cherokee since I bought it in September 2009. a lot of work needs to be done on the Jeep, but I need help on a couple things listed below.

-compass/trip display in the overhead console where lamps do work
-rear defroster

the other day when I needed to defrost the rear window I noticed the bleach smell which moments later turned into a burning electrical smell. had to drive with the windows down on a cold day to clear out the smoke. this finally forced me to check the fuse blocks.

while your average Cherokee's fuse block is under the dashboard on the passenger side, mine was on the driver's side bolted to the firewall.


inspecting it, I found a melted fuse for the defroster. it's a 10A in #18 on the left when it should have been a 25A.


I also noticed another 10A fuse instead of 30A in #16, but at this point I don't have power seats and nothing is hooked up to the tow hitch.

at the same time I removed the dashboard. I found a couple of components attached to it, including another fuse block which I am not familiar with.


as well as this component on the passenger side.


what are these for? what about the display in the overhead console? I would like to get that one working. back to the fuse block on the firewall, the round socket in the lower left is empty. is it supposed to have a fuse in it? I am guessing it is for the door chimes...

help a brutha out, please?

The round spot on the fuse block was for the old style flasher relay. I'm pretty sure that fuse block was used on older models as well. The flasher relay is actually on the relay block thats mounted under the dash (drivers side like in your picture). I never traced what the other smaller relays are for. As for the small electrical box mounted on the passenger side (your other picture), I have no idea but I'll see if I can find out in my manual. Good luck.

I have a 95 cherokee. I need to know the front wiper fuse layout position. the list says fuse#20 my box is exactly like the one pictured above. the numbers don't go to 20. any help would be greatly appreciated

I just reviewed what I wrote here. now wondering why I said left when I meant right. some ambi-dyslexic moment there, eh?

btw, the metal part of the fuse is still... well, fused into the socket. I've tried pulling it out with a pair of pliers but have been unsuccessful.

Now if I wanted to add in a switched accessory that came on with the ignition...where would I plug into the fuse block?
