Default Electrical problem when hitting bumps offroad...

Like the title says when I hit a bump while off roading I run into some electrical issues.

The problem is when I hit a bump my tach drops and the motor sometimes dies. Most of the time it just sputters and comes back to life. If I'm going up hill and I'm on the gas it usually just sputters but if I'm coasting down a hill it usually shuts off right after I hit a bump. I've also had this problem when I get on it really hard or hit a speed bump a bit fast.

My guess is a bad ground on the motor or a bad connection at the coil?

Also I developed a clunking noise from the front end as of last night. It gets faster as I speed up. I just replaced the front axle with a rebuilt one and installed adjustable lower control arms to get the 33" tires to stop hitting the fenders. The pinion angle is not the same as it was with the stock control arms but I was told by a mechanic it wasn't to bad of a angle. My guess would be the stock U-joint don't like the new angle or theirs a problem with my new front end. I'm about to recheck the diff lube and if its good I'm going to pull the front drive shaft and see if the clunk sound goes away.

Any advice on ether one of my problems?

One more question to add. Whats the max length the front drive shaft can extend to? Before the adjustable control arms it was sucked all the way in and now its pulled out about 2.5". I don't know how much more is in there and it was a PITA to get the 2.5" to get it to bolt up.
