I am having 1 hell of a time with this. Any suggestions to make this easier? I was out there for an hour and took off the lower dash portion and most of the screws and cut the strap. It still wont budge and I do see a couple screws I dont seem to be able to get to. The manual said the lower dash is all that needed to be removed... Some help please. Anyone done this?

i had to basically remove the whole dash to get to the heat box out, i did not see any way to get it out the bottom, do you have a/c? maybe thats for one with out a/c

I have a/c so I must take the whole dash off. So basically I need to get a 12 pack for this weekend LOL.

well you can unbolt the steering column and let rest on the drivers seat then just move the whole dash out of the way

been told by others the lower half is all that is needed to be removed.

There's a really good write up on how to remove the dash, which is what I used when I replaced mine. It was a lot easier to do than I thought it would be... Just make sure you remember exactly where everything goes. I couldn't imagine doing it without removing the entire dash, not only would you need a 12 pack, but a bottle of tylenol too!

I pulled the entire dash and steering column and went through about 12 beers......I see no other way. Next time I'll buy another jeep! Enjoy. The heat works great now though.
