Talking transmission control module

Hi, I'm new here. I have a problem only sometimes but it seems to be getting worse. I have a 95 sport with aw4. It seems to only be shifting kinda funny from 1st to 2nd. I have to rev the engine to about 3 1/2 then let off the gas to get it to shift. It will shift the rest of the gears fine and downshift fine. Is it the tcm. I already replaced the throttle position sensor and that didn't do anything. Where is the tcm located and if it is bad where can I by a new one. The parts stores seem to not carry one and I hate to by a used one. Never cared to much for used electronics. You never know when they might just go bad from age.

It's wierd. It doesn't do it every time. Tonight I drove it and it shifted fine. But yesterday it would hardly shift out of 1st. It's not the kickdown cable because I had this jeep for a month and a half and just started this past week. Plus it downshifts fine when I punch it. It's just not shifting from 1st to 2nd. And it still won't shift right even manually when it happens.

The first thing I did is check the level. It's full and not to brown or burnt. Also, my tps is not adjustable. I only checkd the wireing right at the plug and it all looked to be fine. It ran fine for me for the past two days know. But then tonight after a hour and a half driveing it started to do it again. But right when it started I got to target. Came back out and drove 10 min home and it was fine the whole way home. Damn things pissing me off. It's hard to test something that only wants to do this crap once in awhile

x2

To adjust the TV cable you:
1: Push in and hold the release button
2: While holding in release button, push "conduit" in as far as it will go
3: Release button
4: Rotate throttle to WOT, some people do this with the gas pedal. Others do it from the engine compartment.
5: Hold at WOT for a few seconds, cable should ratchet out a click or two.
6: Your TV cable should now be properly adjusted, take it for a test ride.

Here is another post about it on NAXJA

Well I haven't been driveing my jeep in awhile due to being laid off. But I just started driveing it again and I did adjust the throttle valve cable and that did absolutely nothing. This problem really seems to be wierd. One minute it shifts early from 1 to 2nd and the next it won't shift unless I take it above 3000 rpm and let off and then sometimes it works fine. I'm only haveing shifting problems in 1st to 2nd all other gears shift fine. Any more ideas??

Default Help

Well I found how to unhook the trans module and put it in 1-2 and it will not shift into 2nd. It seems like it's just not there. When I put it into 3rd it shifts right in. So I pluged in the module and Put it in 1-2 and still it's not going into 2nd. When in drive it seems to just skip over it. Please if anyone has any other ideas I would love to hear them. help help help

With the TCU uplugged you will lose second gear.
1st, 3rd, 4th/no tc lockup. IIRC

Also, with the Trans in "1-2" it will not shift to 2nd till around 4500 rpm

i would check the solenoids, it they are good it may be time to try a new TCU

Is there a way to check the solenoids through the plug for the trans control module so I can order the part before I drop the pan. I would like to replace it if I drop the pan because I still am driveing it almost every day
