Default 2000 Jeep Cherokee Sport 4x4, very clean and low mileage!

Name: Ron
Location: Charlottesville, VA
Means on contact: PM or this thread.
Trades: Yes maybe.
Price: $6,850 OBO,

I'm only testing waters.

I have no problem keeping it at all. I'm in no hurry. It will not be easy to let it go because I will not find me another low mileage Jeep with what I paid. Giving it a few weeks before I change my mind and keep it.

I love this thing by all means. It's a 2000 Jeep Cherokee Sport. Only mods it has is a front tow hooks, new steering stabilizer from rough country, and trimmed front bumper end caps. Side moldings are removed but still have them if you want them back on.

When I bought it, it had 92,000 miles on it and right now it has 96,800. Miles will go up because it's my daily driver. I drive it 200 miles a week at most times. It had a new paint job for some reason, there's a few dings. Nothing major. All maintenance are caught up. Oil change is not due until 99,000 miles. Interior is perfect shape whatsoever. New floor mats. Even still has the original spare tire from factory. Every fluid you can think of has been changed. 4x4 works good. I get around 22-24mpg highway and 17-19mpg city. I only use 93 octane from Shell. It has about 80% on all the tires and they are BFG All Terrains T/A. They make a little noise. Factory tinted windows.

Bad:
Only bad thing it have is the bumper end trim. They need to be repainted. I can have them repainted again if you want me to.

Also the moldings needed to be painted as well but I took them off and it looks better without them.

One more thing, the new front tow hook with bracket, the last part of the bolt rubs with the sway bar causing it to make a clunk sound. Does not bother me at all they will wear out and make clearance for themself, lol.

Contact me if you are interested. Pm me here or text me at 434 327 2725 at any time.

I had to get proof of mileage of this Jeep due to doubters. Taken with my cell.

Good luck in selling. I just sold my 99 XJ for $3000 but it had 164K on the odometer. Not a lot of buyers in this economy. Did you check your price on KBB or NADA?

My price was based on the condition of the Jeep and the mileage. I looked on autotrader to get an idea of what I should be asking. I seen some 97+ with a little more miles than mines selling for 8,000! That's too much!. I paid $7,000 for mines.

The problem with basing your value on Autotrader is that 80% of the listings on Autotrader are dealer retails, which will be about $1-$2k higher than any private seller listing, minimum. Dealers jack the prices way way up.

Also, any kind of clearance clunk will scare buyers.

Because this is only "I'm only testing waters."

Second problem with basing your asking price off of Auto trader is: Its not a market value. Anyone can ask for any dollar amount, does not mean they are going to get it. 100k is not low miles by any means.

Clean retail for yours from NADA is only $6,300. That's what a dealer would use for a starting value on this. KBB is $4,600 for private party. You could ask $6k but probably get $5-5500 out of it.

I work for a company that gives total loss value to Auto Insurance companies. If I was to run your XJ for value it would come back under $5k. Long story short it makes no sense to pay more then what your insurance would give you for it. You would loose anything you paid over the $5k cash value.

I hope this helps you and gives you some information to go with.

It might be way too much to some people but I'm only asking close what I paid for it. I didn't have it for very long. I just miss having a 5 speed car.

The clunking sound from the sway bar rubbing the new front tow hook brackets have finally stop. It made clearance for itself.
