how do i find out my brake shoe size
title says it all any ideas or how toos? also does anyone kno if maybe the xj's that came with the factory towing option might have had bigger brakes? im just curious now that i kno how to figure out what ones i have

Measure the ID of the drum, either 9" or 10". Or buy both sets and return the one you don't need. that what I did the first time I did the brakes. Do the same next time since I don't remember which I have, now.

9 inch drum on the left. 10 inch drum on the right. There are cooling ribs on the outside of the 10 inch drum that you can't see in the picture and the 9 inch drum is smooth.

I believe the 10's have fins.

You'll have to change the brake assembly - from the backing plate out. I'm not sure, but you may have to get the shafts for the 10" brakes as well - as I recall, the 10" brakes are a bit wider than the 9" brakes (9"x1-3/4" vice 10"x2" or so...)
