Exclamation Transmission help!!!!

So a few weeks ago, I parked my 1990 jeep cherokee loredo; 4.0, and minutes later while running I tried to place it it reverse but it would not engage. It felt like the connection from the gear selector was very loose. I took it to the dealership and they swore it was due to a part that was recalled. They fixed it, after breaking the first part resulting in keeping my work vehicle two extra days. Two weeks go by nd everything seemed fine when the same issue has come up. Same symptoms as before.

So I tow back to the same dealership and they're telling me there's no problem whatsoever. I'm so scared because I think they're ****inh with me to try and nickel and dime my ***.... I can't afford to hardly pay rent

Please help!!!!

We really can't help you much with this type of issue. This needs to be resolved between you and the dealership.

If it were mine, I would have a technician from the dealership take a drive with you and try to recreate the problem so THEY can experience it.

If it is something else other than what they originally diagnosed, the true root cause needs to be properly diagnosed and a competent dealer technician should be able to do that....

Keep your cool and explain the situation to them as best you can. Good luck.

Yes and yes.

I'm just gonna find a a replacement in a junkyard. Unless some of you think servicing it would be cheaper...aghh

A transmission I guess. I think I'll flush the A/T fluid for the time being. I think a pattern has emerged. Something in the transmission is slipping/ failing and being run X amount of time but will reset after cooling down... I've never run into it prior because I typically use it for work, work 9 hours and drive strait home to not be driven until the next day. Any thoughts?
