Fuel leakin on rail
I have a 2001 cherokee sport 4.0. When looking at the engine from the front of the vehicle I have a leak on the feul rail between injectors 3 and 4. Towards the cylinder head side there is a round diaghram looking part between #3 and #4 injectors attached to the rail. This is what is leaking. Can't find a part number or any information about how to replace or repair this part. Any help would be great. I dont want my baby to burn down as its leaking onto the intake and ex. manifold.

Dont run it, the exhaust header is directly below it. Many XJ's have burned from a fuel leak.
I'm not familiar with the 01 but i believe it's the Fuel Pressure Regulator thats leaking, probably needs replacing a seal or maybe the whole unit. Somebody will chime in more familiar..

The part store lists the fuel pressure regulator on the fuel pump. So I know thats not it. The parts store has no idea either. Im stumped. Looks like the only way to remove it is to bend it up as its kinda pressed on.

Correction, today after removing the rail the damper was more easily visible. A snap ring held it in the rail and after removing it I found a leaking worn o-ring. I replaced it and so far no more leaks!

They don't have a part number listed for the damper. I dont think the damper itself really goes bad just the o-ring that seals it onto the rail. When I removed it I just found the correct size o-ring and have been driving with no leaks so far. I think this should be listed somewhere on the forum considering everone that has replaced the whole fuel rail due to the damper leaking. For me replacing the whole rail was not an option due to low cash funds after replacing a new cylinder head and all the gaskets.

Check with the dealer parts dept. That single o-ring might be part of a larger kit... injectors for example. They include the regulator oring on rail along with injectors on older models.. in kit form.
