Specter Cowl Intake
Professionally designed product, easy install. Just make sure you check the hood clearance before you start drilling into the cowl. A couple things I didn't completely like, the hood light needs to be relocated and the wiring loom isn't completely happy being moved. I'll re zip tie the thing and it should be good. Oh yeah, the intake is pretty loud in the cab. I'll have to add some sound deadening in the cowl and inside the cab on the fire wall. I would install it again though and I can recommend it.
Now I need to seal off the old air box and put it back in for storage.

Looks nice! Straight forward install? And is quadratec the only place to buy this? I have not been able to find it anywhere else.

It was an easy install. Just make sure you check the hood clearance before you start drilling into your cowl. The only place I found it was Quadretec.

That spectre is loud isn't it... I just got mine in and was very surprised by how much noise it makes in the cabin. Jury is still out on whether I'll keep it. May just be too loud.

The Spectre is loud. I'm planning on spraying sound deadener in the cowl....carefully and adding more inside the cab. The intake temperature reading is pretty amazing. Stock I could get the temp up to 180 degrees. Now under the same conditions I couldn't get it above 110 degrees. I'll put up with the noise for that.

How water tight do you think the filter housing is on the spectre? Just ordered one but then started thinking maybe I should have bought the Thor kit instead, it seems more water tight.

I'm liking the thor kit also. But would be a pita to remove and clean the filter but I can put up with that if there are gains including significant intake air temp.

Some guys were asking about an update after I put on the Performance Distributors Firepower Ignition Kit. The Jeep hated platinum plugs before and couldn't run them without missing but I put them back in now and increased the gap to .045 from the stock .031. The Jeep loves it and is running like a champ. I put in an Edge Trailjammer as well. The Jeep is pulling much harder now. I was spinning my 31" tires in the street. Couldn't even pretend to do that before. So far so good.
