July COTM Voting Thread!
1995 2WD Jeep Cherokee XJ-R
Originally this project started off as a joke. Our team wanted something that was different and unlikely to be competitive at the GRM $20XX challenge. Since most of us are Jeep guys we thought an XJ would be perfect. Over the years we developed the Jeep into what you see now while staying under the $2013 budget. We never imagined wining the autocross portion of the event and placing 3rd over all once let alone 2 years in a row! The project has been a lot of fun and we continue to autocross it locally with the Boston BMWCCA.
Engine: Stock Jeep 4.0L w/ 243K miles, 50 trim T3/T4 Turbo, 12 psi, 322tq / 274hp, MegaSquirt v3.0 EFI computer, GM 36 lbs injectors, 99+ intake, FMIC
Transmission: Stock 2WD AW4, factory transmission computer plus manual 1-3 shift mode
Front axle: Original solid axle cut, notched, and bent 5 degrees to add -2.5 degrees camber per wheel, boxed control arms, relocated and reinforced control arm brackets, cut springs (about 370 lbs), Ford-150 Rancho shocks, Addco 1 1/8 swaybar.
Rear Axle: Ford Explorer 8.8 w/ 3.73 gears and disc brakes, rebuild and shimmed LSD, 2 Cherokee leaf packs added together, springs smoothed and greased then sealed with duck tape to prevent bind, Toyota Tacoma TRD Bilstein shocks, no rear swaybar, homemade traction bars
Wheels: 15x10, 5" backspace front, 4" backspace rear
Tires: Hoosier A6 275/35R15
Race Weight: 2,780 lbs w/ full tank of fuel
1/4 Mile: 12.9 @ 100 MPH
Power: 274 whp / 322 wtq
Paint: Inspired by Mark Donohue's 1971 AMC Javelin Trans Am.

Guys, please remember that when this is over I will REQUIRE that high resolution/good quality photos be sent to me to go in the Calendar. Please be prepared to do so. If not, the runner up's entry will be used instead.
