yes I apologize for not being clear. Place lifters in any size container and fill with oil over the tops of lifters. Or, I'm sure you could just lay them all down. The picture above doesn't show the end as they're all submerged now since yesterday until later today or tomorrow. This build will commence after work today and I'll post the start up of the engine. Pretty excited.

Before assembly I must check bearing clearance and piston ring gap. Jeep cherokee 4.0L engines require green plastigage for this measurement. There are different colors so make sure you have the right one. You will cut length shorter then the width of the bearing . I will complete this now and post soon.

The main bearing oil clearance measured out to .002 of an inch on all bearings. Do not use lubricant before you measure clearance. Do not rotate plastigage once set and torqued down.

Do I use the same plastic gauge as I used for the crankshaft?

When I measured piston ring end gaps the too ring measured .019 one through six and the second ring measured .018.

The number three piston head had a defect out of the box. Because of the defect of the unused piston head 505 performance agreed for me to ship back The piston ahead without wrist pin so at worst I had to eat shipping on the return.

I used brad pens break in oil to presoak piston assembly, lifters, pushrods... Etc. I suggest using assembly lube when installing engine internals.

Unfortunately all the pictures that were taken of the assembly were unfortunately instantly lost due to cellular-phone crash.
