The stock steering box does everything I need it to and hasn't given me any reason to upgrade. I have a steering box brace, 1" drop pittman arm and ZJ tie rods, Front axle is a Stock Dana 30 with 4.56 gears, Spartan locker, Spicer 760 u-joints with the full circle clips, and a Solid brand cover, rear is a stock Chrysler 8.25 with 4.56 gears, Spartan locker and Solid cover. I haven't broken anything yet, and it will go down the highway at 75 MPH no problem.

Newzy here from da burgh. How is the rig doing with 35" tires on the stock steering box? Have you gone to stronger after market axles. Having a hard time deciding between going to 33 or 35" tires. Rig is part time use, but will see a god bit of Hi-way miles to where I go wheeling. Am a JY aficionado when I can get the time. Half of the fun for me is the build and fabricate process. Have the same year XJ. Just scabbed a YJ tie rod for it. Curious if its worth the time digging out a Durango steering box.
Any ways its still a work in progress. Long arms are next. Any feedback appreciated about your set up. Thanks.
